Laura Ortiz – Tattoo Artist
My name is Laura Ortiz, and I specialize in black and grey neotraditional tattooing. From a very young age, I felt a deep connection to drawing—it was my natural way of understanding the world and expressing things I couldn’t always put into words. This passion led me to study Fine Arts, where I learned the foundations of academic drawing and developed a more structured, technical approach to visual creation.
In 2017, I discovered tattooing, and I instantly knew it was the path I wanted to follow. It was a turning point that changed my life, not only professionally but also on a personal level. Tattooing has allowed me to explore parts of myself that had long remained hidden. It became a space for honest, direct, and deeply transformative self-expression.
My style is built around strong contrasts, bold lines, and confrontational expressions. I aim to create images that carry emotional weight—pieces where beauty and tension coexist in balance. I often hide symbols or elements that reflect inner dualities, representing my personal struggles and the ongoing dialogue with my inner demons. I’m drawn to darkness not as something to fear, but as something necessary: it gives meaning and intensity to the light.
